This Website is Dedicated to Supporting Johnny Romano and His Family as He Continues His Fight Against Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
Johnny is a 10 year old boy from Galveston, Texas. He is an avid skater and surfer, a son to Julie and Mike and a brother to Joey and Sophie. He has a large family and hundreds of friends throughout the country pulling for him as he continues his 3+ year battle against this very difficult disease.
AML is a cancer of the white blood cells, the cells that fight infection in the human body. This is a serious, life threatening disease and it is fought through the use of chemotherapy and other very difficult and extremely costly treatments.
Over the last three years, the Romano family has been selfless in their efforts to help others, despite being challenged with a son with cancer. They have volunteered their time to support the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and the Make A Wish Foundation, both of which have benefited significantly from their tireless efforts. Despite the many challenges they have faced, they have maintained a positive attitude and have been great friends to many of us and provided comfort as others have struggled.
The mission of this website and the Romano Relief Fund is to show support to a family that needs it as they face an uncertain and difficult future as Johnny continues with what is now his second effort at defeating leukemia. The cost of fighting cancer for 3+ years has been significant and has taken a huge toll on this family in both emotional as well as financial terms.
